city-love:

Today, I was talking with some friends from high school about how our school was like Hogwarts. I know right? But I got to realize just how cool my high school actually was.
I went to a private all girls high school. It is the oldest high school in Ohio. It was set on acres and acres of land that included John Vickers Painter’s 1903 mansion, with the oldest operating private elevator in the area. The school was surrounded by a high brick wall, it’s said that Painter build it because one of his children went out into the street one day and was hit by a carriage. He didn’t want to see the street that killed his child. Painter eventually went crazy. He was paranoid about losing his other children and would lock them in a hidden room every night.
During Christmas, the school, made entirely of bricks and windows would be decorated. At the fireplace in the center of the school we’d set up a huge Christmas tree with presents underneath.
It was so cute sometimes… when it wasn’t lame.

She wasn’t nearly this enthusiastic in high school.  College has made her sweeter.

She’s totally right, though.  Our school could be gorgeous.
